Maha Mrityunjaya mantra translated in
“We worship the three-eyed one (Lord Shiva) who is fragrant (in a state of supreme bliss), and who sustains all living beings. May he liberate us from (the eternal cycle of birth and) death. May he lead us to immortality, just as the cucumber is released from its bondage (the vine to which it is attached).”
How to chant the mantra
This mantra can be chanted alone or with other people. It is most effective when chanted 108 times as this number has a great mathematical value. This can be done by using a mala with beads (rosary). When chanted with more people it adds more energy in the atmosphere and is better. Make sure you concentrate on your breath and keep your mind free of thought and have utmost concentration on each and every word of the mantra. While you are chanting imagine yourself being in the Himalayas (peace) and you are invoking the godly energy within you. Make all your energies visualize this inner peace and bring out your own strength.
When you finish chanting, sit for a few minutes in deep silence and enjoy the peace within you. Now become aware of the psychic energy that you have created around your own self (peace). Know within yourself that you carry this protective shield around you wherever you go and you can even include other people in this, The Mahamrityunjaya mantra will help you (and others) overcome all kinds of difficult situations and give you strength to face the world. Chant it daily for best results.
