Bonalu Festival (Ashada Jatra Utsavalu): A pious glimpse to the Extremely Elegant Festival of Goddess Mahakali

Bonalu Festival 2022 in Telangana will begin on Sunday, 3 July and ends on Sunday, 24 July.

Ashada Jatara is a state festival way popular as ‘Bonalu’ in Telangana. Traditionally, it is celebrated during Ashadh month for past so many years. At that time, folks presumed that this Cholera breakout was due to the anger of Goddess Kali and immediately they started offering ‘Bonalu’ to lessen her uncontrollable wrath.

Pothuraju: A special appearance of Mother-Goddess-Brother

During the whole festival, Pothuraju is famed as the brother of Goddess-Kali.
