Description

Ganga Dussehra is one of the eminent festivals, dedicated to Goddess-ganga. It is observed in the month of May every year. As per Hindu religious Calendar, This ten day- Festival of the month ‘Jyeshtha’ commence on the Amavasya and generally end on the Shukla-Dasami. On this auspicious day, worshippers are advised to take a holy dip in Ganges sacred water to get rid of wrong deeds. To achieve Salvation, one should worship Goddess Ganga with traditional rituals (pooja-vidhi) on the Bank of the divine river, early in the morning. It is celebrated in the Indian states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and specially in the north-eastern state of Tripura in India. Ganga Dussehra
