Shravan Maas

Description

Lord Shiva is a Sovereign Divine Personality of Godhead. He loves the month Saawan, which is popular as- Shravana month in Hinduism. Shravan or Shravana (Shrawana) month is whole-heartedly devoted to Lord Shiva. The Worshippers of Lord Shiva visit innumerable sacred pilgrimages to revere Lord Shiva (Shankara) and Shivlingam (Shiva’s Manifestation) during Shravana Maas. Shravan Maas

One should worship Lord Shiva with immense gusto to seek blessing during this entire holy month. On Mondays, worshippers observe various fasts to impress Lord Shiva and his beautiful consort- Goddess-Parvati. Because in North Indian states, all Mondays (Somwars) are considered favourable to venerate Lord Shiva and the one which falls during Shravan month is extremely propitious for fasting known as Shravan of Saawan Somwar. However, all Tuesdays (Mangalwar) in Shravana month are committed to Goddess Parvati- which is also referred as- Mangal Gauri Vrat.
