Saga Dawa

Description

Saga-Dawa is commemorated as the sacred-ceremony when Buddha took the enlightenment, birth, and Parinirvasna (death). This pre-eminent Buddhist Festival is celebrated in Tibet to acclaim the achievements of life of Buddha. It is observed on every 15th of 4th lunar month and the 4th lunar month is popular as- Saga Dawa. This spiritual ceremony is directed and steered by a Lama who is a Buddhist teacher, through the rite and vary from monastery to monastery. Saga Dawa

This religious sacrament is all allied to a Flagpole situated on the hillock of a mountain. On this day, it is replaced by another flagpole that lies on the Kailasha Beside this, the flagpole should stand upright the hill otherwise it is considered to bring bad luck to Tibet and its residents.
