Puri Rath Yatra
Lord Jagannath- the incarnation of Vishnu God is worshipped in Jagannath Temple at Puri district at Odisha State. He is venerated along with his sister- Goddess- Subhadra and brother- Lord Baladeva. It is well-known with the name- ‘The Car Festival of the Hindus’ and is one of the renowned religious Yatra – dedicated to Lord-Vishnu. Lord Jagannath is meant to visit his aunt place on this favourable day and a grand procession is carried out with the idols of these gods and Goddess on beautiful chariots. To remarks this religious celebration, the giant chariots are embellished heavily and is carcarded in the streets near to the temple to celebrate this grandeur. It has an uttermost uniqueness connected with the festival as it is considered as one of its kinds religious observance in the world.
How to Reach:
The closest Airport is- Bhubaneswar from Puri, however the nearest international airport is at Kolkata. Tourists can also reach Puri by means of trains, buses, cars, cabs and taxis. The Railway station near to Jagannath Temple is Puri only which is a chief last rail head of South Eastern Railway. It is well-linked with other major states of India such as- Delhi, Kolkata and Assam. Bhubaneswar is the state capital city of Odisha and lies about 70 kilometres from Puri district.
