The birth anniversary celebration of the largest religion, i.e. Hindu is commemorated as Geeta Jayanti. Bhagvat Geeta is considered to be the foremost divine epic in Hindu society and therefore said to be the most sacred scripture across the world. Lord Krishna himself had told Arjuna the Bhagavad Geeta. In the battle of Kurukshetra, Arjuna gets distracted, looking at his cousins during the war and could not attack them hence refused to take up arms. After that, Lord Krishna himself gave Arjuna a message of human religion and Karma (actions) which have been written in Geeta precisely, in which all the religions and creeds of mankind are depicted.
Geeta was born and came into existence with a view to explain the true meaning of religion to humans. When Geeta was read by the Lord himself, at that time, Kalyug was started. Kaliyug is such a period in which the gurus, divinities, and gods are not present on the earth, who can show today’s Arjuna the right way. In such a way, the teachings of the Geeta pave the way for mankind and humanity. This is the reason that the Geeta was erected during the Mahabharata period.
