Labh Panchami: Date, Rituals & Importance

Labh Panchami is considered to be the last festival of Diwali. This Panchami is also called Saubhagya Labh Pancham. Saubhagya means good fortune and Labh means good profit. Hence this day is considered to be a day of luck and good profit. It is celebrated in Gujarat. According to the Hindu calendar, Panchami is celebrated on the fifth day of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Kartik. This day is considered highly auspicious. The people of Gujarat worship and offer prayers to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha with full enthusiasm for immense wealth and prosperity. Labh Panchami is the first working day according to the Gujarat New Year. People working in Gujarat often celebrate Labh Panchami by considering them as Diwali.

Labh Panchami 2021 Date

Labh Pancham or Labh Panchami is celebrated on the Panchami tithi of the Hindu calendar in the Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. In the year 2021, Labh Panchami is falling on Tuesday 09 November. The auspicious time of Labh Panchami will be from 06:40 AM to 10:17 AM.

Ritual of Labh Panchami

People also perform Sharda Puja on this day. It is believed that those who forget to perform Il Puja on Diwali. So all the people associated with the business community, on this day open their business establishments and shops and worship the new ledgers. Also, those who are business people, pray and worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on this day. So that those people can get the blessings of success in the coming year. Together with relatives and friends, they greet each other by giving sweets and gifts. Also in some specific cultures, people worship their books to enhance their knowledge and wisdom. On this auspicious day, money, clothes, food, and other necessary things should be donated to the needy and poor people. By doing this all your wishes are fulfilled.

Labh Panchami Puja Vidhi

- Wake up early in the morning and take a bath.
- After bathing, offer water to Lord Surya.
- After that sit in front of the idols of Lord Ganesha and Mother Lakshmi. Do worship. Offer sandalwood, vermilion, akshat, flowers, durva, etc. to Ganapati. Offer roses to Maa Lakshmi. Offer red clothes, perfume, fruits, etc. Married women should worship Lord Shiva-Maa Parvati to get good luck on this day. Along with this, modak, milk i.e, the white dish should be offered to Lord Ganesha.

Labh Panchami Mantra

Shri Ganesh and Shiva should be remembered and chanted with the following mantras. Ganesh Mantra – Lambodaram Mahakayam Gajavaktram Chaturbhujam. Aavahyayam Devam Ganesham Siddhidayakam.., Shiva Mantra – Trinetray Namastubhyam Umadehardhadharine. Trishuldharine tubhyam bhootanam pataye namah. After this, after chanting the mantra, incense, lamp, and aarti of Lord Ganesha and Shiva should be done. Make swastika on both sides of the door and distribute the offerings offered to the Lord among all the people and also accept it yourself.

Importance of Labh Panchami

Worshiping Labh Panchami fulfills all the wishes. It is considered a day of prosperity. It is not only called Labh Panchami but also known as Gyan Panchami. On this day Ganesh Ji is also worshiped along with Goddess Lakshmi.
