Navratri 6th day or shasthi tithi is dedicated to the worship of Maa Katyayani - the 6th form of the NavaDurgaShe is also referred as the warrior goddess. A girl facing issues for fixing a marriage can pray Maa Katyayani to obtain a happy and smooth marriage life. About Maa Katyayani

On the havoc created by Mahishasura, Goddess Parvati had taken the avatar of Katyayani. She is also referred as the warrior Goddess. Certain religious texts state that Goddess Pravati was born at the home of sage Katya and hence the name Katyayani. She can be seen riding a lion and carrying a lotus stem and sword in her right hands. She is said to be gifted with the lion by Goddess Gauri.

Origin and History

Goddess Katyayani is worshiped in the sixth form of Navdurga. Maa Katyayani was born to Katyayana Rishi's house and hence she is called Katyayani. Their four arms are arms and lotus flowers, their vehicle is lion. These are Goddesses of the Brajamandal, Goddesses worshiped them for getting Krishna. Mother Katyayani is worshiped for the barriers in marriage, a worthy and kind husband receives from his grace. Jupiter's relationship with Jupiter is considered by these.

Maa Katyayani Devi's look is as bright as gold. Four arm striped maa Katyayani sitting on a lion and holding a sword in one hand and the other in the other for her beloved flower lotus. And the other two hands are in Varmunda and Abhyamudra. His vehicle is Lion.

In our sages, a sage Kshatriya of a great caste was born. They did not have any child. Having a desire to get Mother Bhagwati as a daughter, she made harsh austerity of Parama Maa Bhagwati. Pleased with the penance of Maharishi Katyayana, Goddess gave her a boon of a daughter. After a while, the tyranny of the demon Mahishasura increased greatly. Then, with the brightness of the Trinity, a brightly-colored and quadruped woman was born and killed her. The name of Goddess Katyayani is being born in the Katya tribe.

Significance

Maa Katyayani has been considered as special fruitful for unmarried girls. Those girls who have delay or problems in marriage, worshiping the quadrangle of Maa Katyayani and fulfilling their demanding work, the devotees, who should be successful in the field of education, must worship. Madhu has special significance in the worship of Katyayani Devi. On this day, honey should be used in Prasad. With this effect the seeker receives beautiful appearance.
