When the child becomes one year old, three
years or at the age of fifth or seventh year, his/her hair gets cut which is
called Mundan Sanskara. It is
believed that if she is a daughter, her Mundan ritual is done at the age of one
year. This sacrament strengthens the head of the child and increases the
ability to acquire knowledge and skills. Also, the germs sticking in the hair
of the baby are destroyed by which the baby gets immense health benefits.
