Bhattarika Temple, one of the famous Hindu goddess temples of Odisha, settled on the banks of the river Mahanadi in Badamba at Sasanga village at Cuttack city. Mother- Bhattarika is revered inside the temple who is known to be a glorious embodiment of Goddess- Durga aka Shakti. Popular as one of the Shakti Peetha pilgrimages among 51 is positioned near to the longest River of Odisha state. Bhattarika Temple is an ancient sacred place dedicated to mother Goddess.
Architecture/History: The temple was built by white sandstones and has two temples inside the main vicinity. At the top of the temple, the conical arch is red-coloured. An idol of Lord Pashuram is also placed in the complex, just adjacent to the River at the hillocks of the Ratnagiri mountain.
Speciality: Orissa tourism development corporation ( OTDC ) is taking a good care of the temple and people visit this place as a picnic spot in summers along with friends and relatives. The crowd is thronged especially at the propitious time of Chaitra Navratri and Kali Pujan.
