Birla Temple

Gita Mandir is famed as Birla temple in Mathura. This noteworthy temple is dedicated to Laxmi-Narayana God and is situated on the outskirts of Mathura, and in Vrindavan - Mathura road. It is one of the famous Laxmi- Narayana pilgrimages visited by pilgrims and the devotees across the world. Inside the main temple, the revered deity of the shrine is Lord Lakshmi Narayan only. This was constructed by Jugal Kishore Bia (famous Birla Group) in the memory of his parents.  The speciality about the temple is that- Bhagavad Gita are engraved on each of the pillars of this holy temple. The temple has a beautiful architecture accompanied with eye-catching paintings and walls are also decorated with splendid drawings all aroun. This temple is very big in size and looks wonderful in red sandstone. The temple premises has a Lord Krishna idol installed adjacent to Lakshmi Narayan deities. Ram and Sita statues are also housed inside the temple along with Lord Krishna's Chariot and Gita Stambh.
