Chengannur Mahadeva Temple is located in Allappuzha dist. (Kerala). Legends say It is one of the oldest and popular temple in Kerala. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are worshipped in the temple complex. Shivlingam is also sited inside the sanctum which is covered with a gold plate with an image of ‘Ardhanareeswara’. Some other deities idols are also positioned such as: Ganapathi, Shasta (Lord Ayyappan), Chandikeswaran, Neelagrivan, Ganga, and Naagar. There is also a shrine of SreeKrishna nearby.
