Chintpurni is one of the Shakti Peethas and a major pilgrimage centre and in India. The Chintpurni (Chhinnamastik shakti peeth) is situated in Una district in Himachal Pradesh state which is surrounded by the western Himalaya in the the smaller Shivalik range. It is located in the north and east bordering the state of Punjab. The Chintpurni Shakti Peeth is a pilgrim centre which consists of the temple of Chinnamastika Devi or Chinnamasta Devi. Chhinnamasta temple is one of the seven major total Shakti Peethas among 52 Shakti Peeths in India. It is elucidated as the severed-headed one as well as the fore headed. Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Himachal State Transport departments run buses on the Delhi-Chandigarh-Chintpurni route. And Himachal Road Transport Corporation runs a daily Volvo coach service between Delhi and Chintpurni. However, the Buses running on the Delhi-Chandigarh- Dharamshalaand Delhi-Chandigarh- Palampur route stop at either Bharwain or Chintpurni bus stand. Frequent State Transport bus services are also available from important cities of Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Delhi etc.

A Saraswat Brahman- Pandit Mai Das has built

ago. With the time, this place became famous as Chintpurni after the the deity
