Eklingji Temple is located in positioned on Siyol Rajsamand, in Rajasthan state. This is one of the most
revered places to worship Lord Shiva and Lingam. This eminent Shiva pilgriamge
is sited in the heart of Eklingi Town which is also famed as- Kailashpuri, and
the temple got the name with this town. This distinguished Shiva Abode was
established by Bappa Rawal in 734 A.D. As per the history, since then Eklingji
is famous as the ruling deity of Mewar rulers. The architecture of the temple
is simply marvellous and has silver marbled- Nandi on the entrance. It is a
double- storied temple and has pyramidal style of roof and distinctly carved
towers. A mandapa was built at the centre of the main premise and has a striking
four-faced idol of Eklingji (Lord Shiva) that is made out of black marble. At
the centre of the vicinity, Shivlinga was installed with the idols of- Goddess
Parvati, Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikaya. MahaShivratri is commemorated among
the devotees with a great zeal and enthusiasm every year. People from the city
as well as outside it gather together to celebrate this occasion of Lord Shiva
in a unique way. They offer Bel-Patri, Milk, Flowers and Fruits to get
blessings of Mahadeva. Devotees visit this temple especially on some auspicious
occasions to seek fulfilment of the following- Salvation; Wealth and Relief
from diseases.
