Gaytri
Temple in Jalalpur is a small holy place established in early ages. White-
marbled deity is installed inside the main temple’s sanctum. The temple is
sited in Kakkar Tara Colony in the Indian states of Uttar- Pradesh. The temple
is very clean from inside and looks beautiful. Goddess –Gaytri is worshipped
with a great pomp each and every day. The temple trust is managed by one of the
renowned resident. Shrine of Goddess is placed magnificently inside the main
abode. Mother-Gaytri is adorned uniquely with Red- Chola (Dress) and is also decorated
with discrete jewelleries. Navratri festival
is celebrated twice annually in the month of Feb or March and October. Some
Devotees observe fast on the Nine holy days and do not eat anything till nights
and offer fruits, flowers and Prashad to Goddess- Durga. The auspicious Hindu
festival of Navratri celebrates the power of the nine Goddesses. It is believed
that, People also sow Barley which signifies growth, prosperity and abundance.
The Festival- Navratri marks when Goddess- Shakti killed the demon- Mahisasur
and win good over evil. On this eminent days, people follow many rituals and
traditions to get Goddess- Shakti blessing’s. Ardent devotees also visit this
temple on some other auspicious occasions to seek fulfilment- Salvation; Wealth
and Relief from diseases. Some Rituals like burning of lamps reduces negative
energies and helps in increasing divine consciousness.
