Jagannath Temple In Ranchi Was Built By King Of Barkagarh Jagannathpur Thakur Ani Nath Shahdeo, During 1691. Completed On Christmas 1691, It Is Located About 10 Km From The Main Town. The Temple Is On Top Of A Small Hillock. Similar To the Rath Yatra in Puri, An Annual Fair Cum Rath Yatra Is Held At This Temple In The Month of aashaadha. The temple is located in the Dhurva region. This region is like the suburban area of Ranchi, lying on the outskirts. The location of the temple is Dhurva, Ranchi and Jharkhand. Local residents say that the temple was constructed on a hill top. People can reach the temple by climbing up to the stairs or take the vehicle route.

Architecture
As per the legends
the temple collapsed on 6 August 1990.
State Government of Bihar and some other devoted patrons reconstructed
the temple. They ordered to start the construction on 8 February 1992 and the
templeis now fully restored. The interior of the temple is just similar to the
famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha as this temple is constructed in the
same architectural style, although smaller in size.
