Malayalappuzha Devi Temple
is located at Malayalappuzha in
Pathanamthitta in Kerala. This is a very ancient and famous as the oldest
temple of the world as it is 1000 years old. Goddess Bhadrakali is worshipped
here in her vicious form and her idol is seen inside the temple sanctum which
is made up of Katu Sarkara Yogam., after killing the demon, Darika. In the
temple premise, two more deities are installed those are uprighted for
Abhisheka, Daily pujas and sreebali. Here the main festival is
celebrated for 11 days every year the festival starts on the Thiruvathira nakshtra
in the Kumba masam. Kathakali is also conducted for many days and thus observed
with a great fervor and enthusiasm.
