The Naag Mandir is located at Mantalai near krimchi in Patnitop. It is believed that the ceremonious union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati took place here. An old temple situated atop a hill. Now, Hindus worship snakes and sought their blessings for various mythological and religious reasons. This Naga Mandir temple is dedicated to ‘Naga Devta’ or God of snakes. Devotees from over many places pay a visit to worship the Snake God, offer prayers and later eat the Prasad. However, women are not allowed into the ‘garbho giriho’ of the temple. The festival of Nag Panchami is celebrated with great pomp at this temple. Serpent deity’s figurine is made to bathe in milk and then revered.
