Nand
Mahar Dham in Sultanpur is one of the most viewwed Temples in Sultanpur. It is
basically situated at Nadiwan in the Indian states of Uttar- Pradesh. It is a
beautiful Hindu Pilgrimage and is one of the renowned holy places of Yadav
Community. It is positioned 16 kilometres from a famous area - Musafirkhana
marg from Amethi district. This famed Hindu Temple is dedicated to Saint – Nand
Mahar and thus a white-stoned made up of marble is fixed inside the main abode.
There are many mythological stories associated with this statue of Guru- Nand
Mahar. However the establishment of the temple is still a mystery.
Almost all the famous Festivals are celebrated
inside the main premises. Hanuman
Jayanti is commemorated with a great fervour in this
ancient and divine Temple. It falls in the Hindi month of Chaitra (Chaitra
Pournima) on 15th day of the Shukla Paksha annually. It is observed dominantly
in the month of March/April every year. It celebrates the Birthday of Lord Hanumana by
the devotees inside the holy temple. Priests perform Pooja with traditional
Rituals from early morning after taking a holy Bath. Some other important
festivals are celebrated with a great pomp and devotion every year. People
come not only from India but outside it to visit this sacred Shrine of Lord.
Dev-Diwali, Dusherra, Holi and Prodosh Vrats are commemorated inside the
complex among the local devotees. Fairs have been organised and people often
fast on various traditional days. They sing hymns and praises in the name of
God inside the temple premises. Shivratri is the best time to visit this famous
temple, as people from all corners of India trickle in here to seek the
blessing of Lord Shiva.
