Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple is dedicated to Hindu Deity- Lord Murugana. It is a pre-eminent Murugan’s Abode and is popular as one of the Arupadai Veedu. Arupadai Veedu is a renowned Lord Murugan’s six abodes situated in Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is nestled 16 kilometres North of Madurai city in South-India. This magnificent Hindu Shrine is placed on the Top of the Azhagar Temple As per the legend, Lord Muruga checked out one of his dearest Devotee who was also a renowned- Tamil poet and saint Avvaiyar. The festival celebrated inside the main complex are- Tamil New year; Vaikasi Vishakha; Aadi Krithikai; Aavani Pooram, and Pradosham. According to the ancient Story- This famous Muruga abode is the only temple where the lord's both better halves- Devaiyanai and Valli are worshipped toghther along with him.

is the Bathing festival observed inside this sacred Muruga’s Temple, where the
Lord Muruga is adorned beautifully after taking bathe with Milk, Honey, Holy
waters. Devotees of Lord- Shiva and his Son- Kartikeyan observe a strict fast
on this eminent occasion. They read various scriptures including- Shasti
Kavasam and Subrahmanya Bhujangam sitting inside the temple. Lord Murugan had
been appeared for the great Tamil poet and saint Avvaiyar.
