Phuktal Monastery or Phugtal Gompa is positioned just near to the looming TV Tower at the Hill Peak. It has been constructed in an enormous cave and a river flows down the hillock very near to the temple area. Phuktal Monastery is situated in the Zanskar region of Jammu and Kashmir states in India. Phuk basically means Cave (Gufa), Tal means lake or River. A bridge is also designed in the middle, from where visitors cross the river to reach the Buddha Shrine. The Best Time to Visit the Buddha Pilgrimage is during the monsoon season.

ray of water comes out from the mouth of the cave which flows down to the plain
ground region. Padum is the administrative centre which is very close to the
Phutkal Monastery. Tourists who visit Jammu and Kashmir visit this Holy Centre
for Trekking as well. It is one of the most visited places for adventurous
activities such as- River Rafting and Trekking etc.
Buddha-Purnima
is one of the most important Festivals celebrated among Buddhist People. Buddha
Purnima celebration has special importance for the Buddhists followers as the
founder of the Buddhism was born, died and attained refinement on this special
