About
This temple is located in Jammu and was built by
Maharaja Ranjit Singh during the period 1822-1860. This is said to be one of
the largest temples of North India and consists of a complex of seven Hindu
Shrines which are known as Shikhara. The deity which is worshiped here is said
to be the same one which Rama had worshiped during the Ashwamegh Yagnya. One of
the oldest temples of lord Rama, Raghunathji temple is made up of huge rocks
and is some 10,000 years old. Situated on confluence of Bhagirathi and
Alaknanda, the temple is visited by devotees all year round.
