Sri Rameshwaram temple in Tamil-Nadu is positioned on an island of
Rameswaram in Ramanathpuram district. This momentous Hindu pilgrimage is
dedicated to Lord Shiva and is well known as Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga. This Temple

MahaShivratri is celebrated among

every year. A fest has been organised by the local devotees and the organisers
to celebrate this big festival annually. On Mahashivratri, umpteen devotees throng the temple with prayers on
their mind and offering on their hands. People come from various places to get
Shiva’s Blessings and they observe a holy vibe surrounding in this auspicious
occasion. People sing hymns and
praises in the name of Lord Shiva on the night of Maha- Shivratri. Large
carcades are carried out within the city with people thronging the streets to
catch a glance of the venerate idol of Mahadeva.
