About
Shiva Temple is situated in Khandari at Agra. It
is one of the Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has a
magnificent Shivlinga placed in the main abode. Lord Shiva is worshipped here
on every Mondays and especially on Shrwana Maas and MahaShivratri. This
distinguished Shiva temple is a famous pilgrimage of Agra among Hindu believers
and has adorable drawings on the Walls of the temple. Devotees come from nearby
places to worship Lord Shiva during occasions and festivals. Almost all the
festivals are celebrated with a set of rituals in this temple. The festival of
Shivratri is observed at grand scale with a great devotion and fervour. The
atmosphere of the temple provides peace to mind and heart of the devotees and
the toursits. This illustrious pilgrim lmage centre also arranges a fifteen
days fair at the time of Mahashivratri Parva every year. A fest (fair) has been
organised by the local devotees and the organisers to celebrate this big
festival annually. Devotees observe fast on this night and do not eat anything
till night and offer fruits, flowers and bel leaves on Shiva Linga. People
believe that on this holy day Lord Shiva was married to Parvati Maa.
