About
Shivoham Shiva Temple is situated at
Bangalore in Karnataka State. This is a renowned and the most beautiful Hindu
temple among all the temples in India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva
and his Son- Lord Ganesha in a very unique way. The architecture of the
building is magnificent and splendid. The Shiva Temple is positioned near to
Old Airport Road, Bangalore and has the most powerful Shiva idol in the world
with a gigantic 65 feet (20 m) tall idol.. This very famous Shiva abode is one
of the most popular spiritual and religious places in South.
In 1994, the construction of the temple is
completed and the tallest and the notable Lord Shiva statue was built in 1995
started. On February 27, 1995, the temple was inaugurated by Sri Shankaracharya
of Shringeri on the special day of MahaShivratri. The temple throngs a lot
people from India and abroad. The
speciality about the temple is- the entrance gate that has a 25 feet Shiva
Linga symbolizes the most sacred manifestation of Lord Shiva.

is done every year to cleanse and to purify our souls and inner-selves. Yagna(Hawan)
is organised inside the main vicinity by main Pujaris to appease God. Navagraha
Pooja is also observed dedicated to the Creator of the entire universe and the
nine planets- Lord Shiva. A big fest (Fair) is also commemorated to celebrate
this auspicious occasion of Shivratri. People come a long way to please Lord
Shiva on Shivratri function and offer Bel-patris, Milk, Sugar, Honey, Flowers
and Water on Shivalinga
