About
Jagannath Temple Ahmedabad is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath in the city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat . The temple located in the Jamalpur locality was established by Sadhu Sarangdasji about 450 years ago. The temple is famous for its annual chariot festival, the Jagannath Rath Yatra, which is the third most important and largest after the Ratha Yatra at Puri and Kolkata.
Shree HANUMANDASJI by name happened to visit
Ahmedabad and found a jungle area suitable for his stay. Later being a devotee
of RAMBHAKT MARUTI, he established the Lord’s deity there and started
worshiping. During his stay, some miraculous happening attracted people from
the neighboring areas, which has become the root cause to develop this place
into a modest temple. His successor sadhu Shree SARANGDASJI happened to be a
devotee of Lord Jagannath. He then got instructions in his dreams from Lord
Jagannath to establish him in the temple. Thus, the Maruti temple became
Shree Jagannathji Mandir.
