Bhimashankar temple in Pune is a very pre-historic shrine which is positioned in the hillocks of Sahyadri Mountains. This spiritual and religious pilgrimage is one of the renowned Temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. This Shiva abode is a famous Jyotirlinga among the twelve Jyotilingas in India. This notable temple is basically sitedq25 kilometres from Pune city on the Ghats of Sahyadri hills. Lord Shiva is venerated in his Linga form inside the main sanctum- sanctorum.
