Rajarajeshwara Temple is at a distance of Rajarajeswara Temple from
Kannur (25 km). The temple is famous
as one of the existing 108 ancient Shiva Temples of Kerala, especially in South
India. Local residents say it had the longest and most pointed Shikhara in
ancient times and has a top of about 90 tones. It is believed that the temple
is thousands years ago and is one of the sacred and historic Shakti Peethams. Mythology
say ithe head of Goddess Sati fell here after Shiva’s Tandava ollowing
Sati's self-immolation. Hence Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi is
worshipped here with a great devotion
