Tripura Sundari Temple
Tripura Sundari Temple is one of the ancient and
the holiest Hindu temples in India. It is located in the hillocks of the old
Udaipur which is about 55 kilometres from Agartala, Tripura. The temple is
popular as one of the holy 51c Shakti Peethas and is well known with the name- Matabari
among the local devotees. It is belief that Sati's right foot fell here during
Lord Shiva's Dance. The idol of Kali (Shakti ) is worshiped inside the
Santorum- sanctum of Tripura Sundari (Lalita) in the form of 'Soroshi'.
