Yameshwar Temple is a Hindu Temple positioned in Bhubaneswar at Odisha, India. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Originally, it was famous with the name- Jameshwar Temple among Odia People. This extremely ancient religious place is situated in the area surrounding of Bharati Math in Jameshwar Patna. Inside the main sanctum- sanctorum (garbhagriha), a Shivalinga is placed which enhances the beauty of the temple.
History and Architecture
Yameshwar Temple was architected, dates back to the 13-14th century. Basically, this Lord Shiva abode was constructed during the govern of the Eastern Ganga dynasty. The temple was built with solid marvels and sandstones with separate mandapam, a big hall inside and Prakara of reddish clayey material. Decorative image or design, especially a repeated one forming a pattern.
Specialty and Festivals
Yameshwar Temple solemnized numerous festivals and rituals inside the temple premises enthusiastically. Some of the notable festivals commemorated in the temple are- the Jiuntia festival (Puajiutia festival), Dwitvahana Osha, Kartik Purnima, Maha Shivaratri, and Dev Diwali. Thousands of worshippers throng together for the celebration.
