Details

Shri Shridi Sai Temple was inscribed as a Public Spiritual and Charitable Trust at Guwahati, Assam in December, 2007. The foremost aim to establish this charitable firm is to promulgate the lessons, enlightment and knowlegde of shirdi sai baba and to endeavour social activities. The Trust has seven trusties at the beginning and Sri Himanshu Sekhar Das was appointed as the Managing Trustee.

Under the supervision of Dr.Chandra Bhanu Satpathy (Guruji) and with his encouragement, the first task was successfully commenced by the Trust which was the construction of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba temple at Radha Nagar Bye Lane,VIP Road, Six Mile,Guwahati.

The temple was built by Dr.C.B.Satpathy as the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ of the temple was performed on 15thJanuary, 2009. However the Pran Pratistha of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba’deity  and the Inauguration ceremony of the temple was Performed By Dr.C.B.Satpathy on 11th November,2012.

How to Reach:

Sai-baba mandir is at a distance of 35 kms from Guwahati Airport, 10 kms from Railway Station. The nearest railhead is Narengi Railway Station and the nearest airport is Gauhati. Public buses rental cars are also available.

History

Sai Baba is also known as Sai Baba of Shirdi or Shirdi Sai Baba. He was an Indian spiritual mentor and was very famous among his devotees for spreading spiritual, moral and religious knowledge trough his teachings and lessons. Sai Baba was popular among the folks as a spiritual saint, a noble fakir and a Satguru and most importantly he was regarded as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He was worshipped as a supreme Hindu deity and was well-known for his epigrams- Allah Malik (God is King) and Sabka Malik Ek (Everyone’s God One). He was idolized by Muslims, Hindus and orthodox Christians at the time when we was alive and after his life as well. Devotees imputed him as the creator, the sustainer and the destroyer of this whole universe.
However He has been given the name Sai by ‘Mhalsapati’when he reached Shirdi, a place in the west Indian part of Maharastra state.

Festivals Observed

Festivals- Devotees celebrate GURU PURNIMA Festival in the month of July and RAMNAVAMI in March and April. ‘SAMADHI DIVAS’ is also commemorated annually among folks on the day of Vijaya Dashami in the month of September and October. People also celebrate the FOUNDATION DAY on 11TH NOVEMBER as the Temple was established by November-11.
