Details

Rani Sati Temple is a well - Known Temple situated in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. It is the largest temple of India dedicated to a Rani Sati, who was a Rajasthani Lady lived in between 13th Century to 17th Century. This temple has a history and hence is an indication to feminine bravery and spirit which certainly captures the attention of all devotees as she became Sati (Self-Immolation) on her Husband's Death.

How To Reach:

By Road Way- From Delhi: 240 km (Five hours of journey)

From Jaipur: 180 km (Three and a half hours of journey)

From Bikaner: 235 km (Four and a half hours of journey)

By Train: The town can be easily reached by express-trains with A.C. coaches from Delhi and Jaipur.

The traveling time by train from Jhunjhunu to Delhi is 6 hours.

The traveling time by train from Jhunjhunu to Jaipur is 5 hours.

By Airway: Nearest Airport is Jaipur, Jodhpur

Architectural Brief

This temple is famous for its magnificence and extra-ordinary paintings and is one of the oldest presented Indian pilgrimages. Rani Sati is also called Narayani Devi and referred to as Dadiji (grandmother). In the complex of Rani Sati temple there is also the Hanuman Temple, Sita Temple, Ganesha Temple and Lord Shiva Temple. This famous temple does not hold any paintings or statues, idols and deities of either female or male gods. However a trident depicting power and force is worshipped inside the temple complex by the followers and the devotees. However a beautiful portrait of Rani Sati in the pradhan mand is sited in the centre. This famed temple is prepared with white marbles and has colorful wall paintings.

Festivals Observed

A special Pujan Utsav is held on the occasion of Janamasthmi and People from all over the country visit this place to offer their Puja to Goddess Sati Devi (Dadi maa) and Lord Krishna as this temple is also dedicated to Lord Krishna and thus this festival is celebrated with a great enthusiasm with various different . A special Aarti and delicious ‘Prasad’ distribution takes place after the birth of Lord Krishna.
